ABOUT US
Koobear Siberian Huskies is a small kennel based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Our dogs live happily together as a pack and I pride myself on the fact that I can run them three to four at a time off lead and they respond very quickly when called to my side, never straying far from me.
We have had some fantastic successes with our home bred dogs - Koobear Kaila Jubilee was our all time great, being one of the top dogs in the USA for two years and winning a BOB at Westminster. Her brother Cargo followed in her footsteps with some wonderful wins of his own. We have had the honour of taking a couple of hard-earned BIS's and BISS's and possibly the best of all was to be nominated by the breeders as one of the International Breeders of the Year in 2007.
Koobear Siberians are in Singapore, Philippines, Australia, Russia, USA and Brazil.
Our twenty years in Siberian Huskies has brought happinesses and sadnesses but I am as committed as ever to producing, showing and selling top quality dogs and doing it ethically and morally with the well being of my dogs first and foremost.
The Future
Whilst on a much needed break from the politics and heartaches of the dog world, I decided to embark on my judging career. I passed my first exam with flying colours and am on my way to becoming a JUDGE! There are a lot of hoops to jump through and so many reports to write but I am thoroughly enjoying this whole new perspective of the dog world.
It is 2009, I have been to my first dog show since 2006, I have three new youngsters who were so excited to be out and about and the centre of attention, it was fun and I was happy to be back. The fun is back in showing for me.
